The day of my graduation from Northwestern University should have been full of joy and celebration, but instead, I was in the midst of a profound depression. For the prior 6 months, I could barely get out of bed. I was 23, suffering from social phobia, including pee shyness, had crippling back pain, and saw no way out. But I knew, somewhere deep inside, there was a path back to health.
Now, after many years of studying the biological, social, and psychological components of mental health and embarking on a personal journey of therapy, medication, and experimentation, I can look back at that young man, so full of unrelenting self-criticism, and provide him with the love and compassion he had needed all along. With my ailments gone, my depression lifted, and anxiety just a good friend along for the ride, my life is full of joy, gratitude, contentment, and peace
Because of my personal journey, I have made it my life’s work to help YOU find a way out of the grips of mental illness. Using the complete toolkit of medicine, psychotherapy, and lifestyle changes, let me help YOU find the freedom you seek.
I strive to be a collaborative provider who is interested in helping you find a path to happiness, freedom, and comfort.
We all struggle in our lives in a variety of ways. It is impossible to have a meaningful conversation and seek support when we are anxious, depressed, manic, or distracted.
I seek to find a path to your recovery by supporting you. I listen carefully and find a joint solution to your problems. I believe medication can be helpful when prescribed in small dosages, and when you are fully informed what the medication is supposed to do for you. I am focused on treating your symptoms, and not interested in labeling you with a diagnosis.
For the past 8 years, I worked in a fast-paced urban hospital assisting clients with anxiety, depression, SOGI-related trauma/PTSD, ADHD, and cyclic mood disorders. I offer traditional Rx therapy, as well as complimentary treatments ( diet, exercise, sleep, lifestyle, etc.)
